Outfit Of The Day

Thought I'd do a fashion inspired post as I tend to do very little of these. It was so so hot when I took these photos, the weather has been B-E-A-UTIFUL recently. I love these shorts, they are so comfy and have a lovely lace detail at the bottom. I hope the weather stays like this, I may actually catch a tan! although that is very unlikely.

Empty Heart Nails

I have always been a fan of the Elegant Touch brand, they always seem to produce great false nails with great quality. When I first heard about the new express range whereby the nails come pre-glued, I was a bit split minded as to what I thought. For me, Pre-glued stick on nails remind me of when I was younger and you received the child makeup sets for Christmas or birthdays.

I decided to purchase the Express Nails Trend Empty Heart (£8.99) from Boots. I love this nail design as it is so simple yet looks like you've made a bit more effort than usual! The nails themselves have a gel layer over the top so that you don't experience any chipping or scratching. I was a bit naughty and decided to use some nail glue as I didn't want to risk loosing a nail! I just don't trust the pre-glued stick on system enough. I felt that the sizes of the nails could have been a lot better, usually the Elegant Touch products fit perfectly, however, I felt that these nails didn't fit as perfectly as I wanted them too. Aside from that, I love the look of these nails and they are on day 3 of wear. I do feel the nails look natural and have a lovely finish due to the gel over-coat. I really want to try some of the House Of Holland range for my holiday, I've spotted some ice cream style nails!

Let me know if you have tried these nails and what you thought!

Botanics Hydrating Night Cream

Well, haven't I been neglecting my blog. I have been extremely busy over the past two weeks, starting a new job, travelling to a few places and also just catching up with friends. Now that things have settled down a bit, I feel like there is finally enough time for me to keep on top of things. I have been suffering from extremely dry skin and my acne has also been flaring up. I thought that this may be due to a lack of moisturising in my skin routine. I always apply a day cream but never usually bother with a night cream. I came across the Botanics All Bright Hydrating Night Cream (£3.99)

This product is from the Boots Botanics All Bright skincare range. The All Bright range is one of five different ranges, each targeting a different goal such as more youthful skin or less shiny skin. The night cream itself promises to encourage the renewal of skin so that when you wake up, your skin looks much brighter and healthier. With a combination of Hyaluronic acid and Natural AHA's from  Hibiscus flowers, the product should increase moisture levels and mildly exfoliate the skin.

When I first used this product I was impressed by the consistency of the product. It is a really thick cream with a really silky feel to it. When applying to the skin the product feels expensive and super hydrating. I feel that after using this product my skin has really improved both in moisture level and by also reducing the amount of acne on my face. I feel like a little bit of this product goes a long way, especially because it is so thick. Although the consistency is much more thicker than my usual moisturiser, it did not effect the amount of time taken to absorb into the skin. The product absorbs within a couple of minutes meaning you don't have to sit around before going to bed. Overall I am really happy with the outcome of this product, I look forward to using it every night as it feels so luxurious. I do feel my skin has become brighter and feels much more smoother and generally much more healthier.

Barry M Matte Nail Paint

It's always nice when a product catches your eye on the beauty aisles, I was drawn to this gorgeous lime green colour. I have tried matte nail polishes in the past, i think it's a nice alternative if you want to escape the classic gloss finish. After staring in awe at the different colours available at the Barry M counter, I decided to step out of my normal circle and try something different. I would never normally choose a colour so bright and, well...green, but I thought for summer, this could be a nice change.

For some reason I have been really attracted to bright blues, oranges and greens, I feel like this summer, statement colours are working really well for me. I purchased the Barry M Matte Nail Paint - Waikiki (£3.99) from boots.

The product is a really nice consistency, i really love how it glides on. The brush is really easy to navigate and has a really nice size to it, you can get to every part of your nail with ease. The drying time is super fast, I didn't have to sit and wait around before I could apply another coat! In total I used 3 coats but I think that two may have been enough, I'm just picky. I really love the over all finish to the matte polish, for some reason it's really satisfying to see the finished look.  I think if you are going to go for a green polish, this is a great contender as it does have a pastel look to it, I love the colour and will be taking it on holiday with me. I thought this would be a really good base colour for a nail art design so I later used my nail art pen to create a a very modern simplistic design (you can see pictures on my instagram). I think to enhance the lasting of this product I would also apply the matte top coat.

Have you tried any of the matte nail paints? Let me know what you thought!
