Outfit Of The Day

Well hello there my lovelies, I hope you are all well! Thought I would post my first outfit of the day! I am off to work today and had some time spare before hand.

I got this dress a couple of months ago from New Look however, I don't think they still sell it, the nearest I could find was this  Cream Bird Print Shirred Waist Sleeveless Dress (£12.99).  I love the pattern on this dress it has a sort of vintage feel to it.

The belt I am wearing did not come with the dress, originally it had a black faux leather belt with studs all the way around but I use this light brown/beige one for work.

My necklace and earrings are both from Primark! I love primark jewellery, it's inexpensive and looks great. All I would say though is choose wisely in primark because some items can be rather .. breakable?

I wanted to choose a statement necklace with this outfit to give it some life, It adds that modern feel to the vintage/retro style dress.

The 3 rings on top all came together and they are also from Primark.  They do leave that green sort of tinge on your skin if you wear them for too long but give them a quick paint with a clear nail varnish and that will stop the colour change on your skin.

The rings on the bottom are both from Pandora. I love Pandora, the rings both go so well together, they were a present from my Nan, She has such a good eye for accessories.

Well that's it my lovelies, I am off too work! If you have any questions leave a comment or email me!

lots of love

My Every-day Eye Make-Up!

Well hello there my lovelies, today I thought I would do a tutorial on my everyday eye-makeup. I have very small eye lids so I like to keep everything subtle otherwise I end up with really dark small eyes.  I don't wear fake-eyelashes on a day to day basis unless it's a special occasion. I tend to opt for neutral colours that don't in other words stand out too much. I usually go for blues and browns.

There are 4 products that I can't live without.
  1. SEVENTEEN Wet Look Lacquer Eye Liner (£3.99)
  2. Barbara Daly High Impact Mascara Brown (£7.00)
  3. A blending brush
  4. Eyeshadow.

I love these products and use them religiously at the moment. I am not keen on the Barbra Daly foundation, it is way to patchy on my skin and I really do not like the texture. However, the mascara is wonderful. The 17 eyeliner is amazing, it does not budge all day, it really gives that wet look affect with easy application.

  1. To start off the look I cover my eye-lid with a soft beige to get an even base. I like to choose a light colour with a slight shimmer to high-light my lid.
  2. I then take a light baby blue and apply that just above the crease but not on it.
  3. After using the light blue I take a dark blue, A sort of midnight blue, and apply this on my crease. This really helps define my eye and make it look that tiny bit larger!
  4. My fourth step is to blend in the remaining eye-shadow. There is nothing worse than a solid un-blended colour. I like to blend, especially, above the crease so there is no bold solid contrast between the eye-shadow and my skin.

  1. Curl your lashes with some eyelash curlers to give your eyes a much more open look. I always curl my lashes! A really useful tip is to heat up the lash curlers with a hairdryer for 3-5 seconds! The heat keeps your lashes in place and gives a better curl!
  2. Apply a thin coat of mascara and try to avoid clumping!
  3. I know most people apply eye-liner before mascara however, I really find that doing it after can give you a more smoother line. The mascara defines my lash line so I find it easier to follow with the liner! I like to add a small flick where the outer v meets the lash line.

I wear this look for work or on a casual day because it is so natural. For the rest of the face I wear a light pink blush with a nude lip gloss to finish it off. It is so easy to do and takes no time at all!

Good-bye for now my lovelies

lots of love

My new night-time skincare routine!

Hello my lovelies, I have decided to show you all which products I use for my night-time skincare routine. It is so important to look after your skin and the worst thing you can do is leave your make up on at night! I had terrible acne when I was in high-school but thankfully it has settled down now.

I have tried millions of products so I have kind of settled down and found out what works best for me. There are so many expensive spot-treatments and skin-treatments but it doesn't mean they are the best. I have learnt recently that my skin has improved massively and this is due to small products that aren't necessarily £1000000!

First of all I start with a cleanser. A cleanser is used to remove the oil and dirt from your face. Before using the cleanser I sometimes use a face-wipe, depending on the amount of make-up I have had on that day.

I love this product because it even removes mascara without feeling too tough on the skin. It has a really fresh smell that isn't too strong and leaves skin soft and clean- feeling. It isn't oily so don't worry about that, it also lasts FOREVER! you really don't need a large amount of product. I also use this in my morning skincare routine.

Next up I like to use a toner. Like the cleanser, a toner also removes surface oil and make up, removing what your cleanser may have missed. It also firms the skin so you end up with a healthy-look.

This toner leaves your face feeling so fresh and is a perfect partner for the cleanser. I love everything about simple skincare products and use them time after time. Skin is left feeling fresh, firm and healthy-clean.

After toning my face I like to do another cleanse! I know it may be over the top but I hate the thought of sleeping with make up on and I like to make sure my skin is super clean!

I have only had this product for two days but I can already see a difference in my skin! It's actually incredible! My skin is softer and clearer already, I am so impressed with this little product! I also use this once in the morning before I put on my make-up and I am going to carry on doing so. I really love the way this leaves your skin so fresh-feeling.

After cleaning my face I like to use a quick face mask. This has to be one of the best purchases I have ever made, EVER! This face-mask promises to lift dirt, reduce black-heads and tighten pores.

This product is amazing and I mean amazing! I love a good face-mask and this really leaves skin feeling firm and clean! I can't believe this product is so cheap! my sister ( in the right) also uses this product and her skin is gorgeous! She loves it!

After a soothing face-mask I like to finish with a moisturiser. I moisturiser is meant to hydrate your skin.

This moisturiser smells amazing! It is oil free and contains ocean minerals. I love the finish of this moisturiser as you don't feel like you're going to break-out due to an oily feel. You are literally left with a gorgeous-smelling, matte face.

Well that's it my lovelies, keep smiling

lots of love

Holiday Haul!

So I have finally been shopping for my holiday beauty products. I will be jetting off on holiday in a week so I needed to go out and grab those last minute products. When going on holiday it is really important to be organised and make a list of essentials because it can be hard to get hold of them when you are abroad. I nearly have everything now so hopefully I only need a few more bits and bobs!

I awoke this morning to find my Xen-Tan Face Tanner Luxe 80ml (£15.50) had arrived. I am still waiting for my Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mouse 240ML (£30.64) before I can use it which is killing me. I WANT THAT SUMMER GLOW! I am so excited to use this product, so many other bloggers have raved about it which is really encouraging!  One of my favourite reviews on the Xen-Tan products is by Sandra, The Black Pearl Blog. She has before and after photos which are great quality. I will hopefully be able to review both the tanners throughout this week!

The Cocoa Brown self tan applicator mitt (£2.99) also arrived today. I used this mitt to do my review on the  Garnier Ambre Solaire Wash Off No Streaks Bronzer 150ml (£6.99)  it really is essential if you want to get that all over continuous colour!

Another product which I got hold of today is the Wave Original Vibrating Power-Cleanser | Neutrogena®. I picked this up in a drug store however, there are great prices on amazon! Can't wait to get using this, it has brilliant reviews! At first I thought the pads looked quite dirty and thought gosh what is that stain however, it is the face-wash which foams when activated by water!

Other than the beauty products above I bought numerous other products for my holiday. I managed to buy:
  • Face Wupes
  • Hair remover
  • Shaving cream
  • Body Wash
  • Exfoliater
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Argan Oil
  • Cotton Pads
  • Disposable Toothbrush
  • Flannel
  • BB Cream
  • Moisturiser
I will be reviewing a couple of the products in the near future so I can't wait to get using them!

Speak soon my lovelies!

Garnier Ambre Solaire - No Streaks Bronzer Review

I happen to have the most pale skin ever. I do not tan, so I thought it was time to start faking it. I have tried many fake tanning products in the past however, I really want to find that perfect product. I had this tanner lying around in the house so I thought why not give it a go. I know tanning can be very daunting however, you need to try these things or you'll never know!

 The product promises;
  • No streaks
  • no self-tan smell
  • easy wash-off with soap and water
The product is presented in the following packaging:

I really like the packaging, with the use of a pump, its very easy to access the bronzer and also control the amount you want. I guess also allows you to prevent wasting unnecessarily. There are directions on the back of the bottle and some key information on the front which allows you to gain the general idea of the product.

On my skin the product looked quite dark which is always scary if you're super pale like me! The product is a gel which is quite odd, but I like it. The gel isn't too thick and spreads very evenly. I applied the product with  Cocoa Brown self tan applicator mitt. (£2.99). The mitt really prevents those fake-tan awful hands and also allows an even application.

The smell of the product was very tropical and fruity, it did not have that fake tan smell which I was very pleased about, we all hate that biscuit smell. It does state on the bottle that it has a subtle apricot fragrance. The tan will last all day however, any water on this tan and it is gone. It does as it promises, soap and water will remove this product fully.

I am really happy with the results. As the photo above shows, the tan was a nice bronze colour, not orange and defiantly not streaky! I would recommend this product to anyone, it has my vote. I was really surprised at the lovely colour and lovely scent. If only it was lasting!

RIVER ISLAND: My top picks for a beach look

So, it's nearing the summer holidays and there are some amazing buys up for grabs in the high-street stores. I thought I would jump straight into the deep-end with my first post. I have chosen to create a beach look from one of my favorite shops; River Island

1: GREEN HAWAIIAN PRINT BUSTIER BIKINI TOP (£16)
I am completely in love with this bikini, It really does have that tropical kind of feel to it while also incorporating that retro/vintage style.

2, BEIGE WOVEN CONTRAST TRIM BEACH TOTE BAG (£35)
This bag is just the right size for a beach bag in order to fit all your beauty and sun essentials. The classic woven beach bag has had a modern make over, creating a beautiful accessory for your summer adventures.

3, GOLD TONE TRIBAL DETAIL CUFF (£10)
This cuff is perfect for adding that little bit of tribal glamour to your casual beach wear with out creating an over the top look.

4, GREEN HAWAIIAN PRINT CUT-OUT BIKINI BOTTOMS (£12)
Just like the matching bustier bikini top, the bottoms continue the tropical theme. with a high wasted cut, these bikini bottoms are perfect for creating that effortless vintage beach look.

5, CREAM PACHA BEADED WRAP KIMONO (£60)
Although this is not specifically river island, I had to include it. It is just what you need when looking for a light cover up. The embellishment and attention to detail on this piece makes it brilliant.

6, GOLD TONE COIN ANKLET (£8)
This anklet has a very roman feel to it. It can be adjusted so do not fear! Just as the gold tone cuff, it adds that little bit of glam without being to full on.

7, BEIGE METAL T BAR SANDALS (£30)
These sandals can be mixed with so many of your summer outfits. They are straight forward yet incorporate a gold bar at the front for that eye catching effect.

8, SILVER TONE EMBELLISHED CAT EYE SUNGLASSES (£15)
I absolutely love love love these sunglasses. They are just fabulous. The embellishment on these sunnies makes them a must have for festivals or summer holidays. They also create a some what retro feel.

Well that't it m'lovelies, I hope you like my 8 summer beach-wear picks from river island! I would personally say that some of these items are splurge items to me. However, everyone loves a treat now and then!
