TOO FACED CHOCOLATE BAR PALETTE

I've never really purchased a high end palette. Although they are very beautiful, I can't bring myself to spend the money, I am very content with the highstreet alternatives. When my lovely mum asked me what I wanted for christmas, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get one of the luxury palettes without the price tag!

I had seen the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette crop up in numerous tutorials across both YouTube and Instagram, it looks so beautiful - even online. I mean, a palette pigmented with chocolate is a winner in any sense. The palette boasts a wide range of both matte and shimmer shades which makes it a very versatile investment. Retailing at £36, you are averaging at £2.25 an eyeshadow.

There are some absolutely beautiful shades in this palette - they really are lovely. You have a good choice between light/dark browns, pink and plum shades. I love a good plum toned shadow as well as a warm smokey shade for contouring the crease. I definitely feel as if the shimmer shades have more of a pigment payoff when compared to the matte shades. I really love both Haute Chocolate and Black Forest Truffle - these are my go to shades for a smokey eye. I also love the lighter lid colours such as Champagne Truffle and White Chocolate. There are both warm and cool shades so depending on different times of year or event - you have a shade for all occasions. All shades blend well and apply with ease and little fall out, I think the shade range makes blending shades together a whole lot easier too. The lasting power is also a note to point out- these shadows will last all day so don't worry if you have no time to top up during a long day.

One of the lovely characteristics of this palette is the fact that it smells just like chocolate - it's so wonderful. The design of the packaging stands out by miles when compared to other similar palettes - the chocolate theme is genius I mean, chocolate and makeup is work of the Gods.

If you are looking for a very versatile palette - this is the one. I have learnt from this experience that high-end palettes can work out as a better investment. at £2.25 a shadow it really isn't all that bad when you think about how much you have to spend on starting a single shadow collection. I am so happy to have this palette and would definitely recommend it. However, be aware that you will want to eat it every time you use it.
