AUTUMN LIP MENU

I don't know how many times I've said this in the past two weeks but I love autumnal shades. I was recently applying my favourite plum lipstick and thought admirably about my collection of A/W shades. I have recently become slightly obsessed with swatching makeup, theres something so satisfying about seeing all the colours lined up all neat and pretty.

I tend to wear nude shades all year round, I'm not much of a bright summer girl and so I usually keep it simple. As autumn approaches I tend to find myself steering towards more dusky pinks and plums with the occasional red lip if I'm going out somewhere extra special. I always go for matte lipsticks, I just find they look best on me and I don't really like sheens or glosses on my lip shape.

I absolutely love both the NYX Lip Lingerie and the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick - both are amazing and they last for hours without budging. I love how quickly they dry and the definition you can achieve with them is unbeatable. Surprisingly, the Primark Matte Long Lasting Lipstick is one of my favourites and I find myself grabbing it most days, it's a lovely shade and it's so affordable!

Let me know if you have a favourite autumn shade, I am always on the look out to add to my collection!

NYX LIP LINGERIE SWATCHES

Liquid matte lipsticks have quickly become a serious obsession of mine, I can't stop myself purchasing them. I have had my eye on the NYX Lip Lingerie Lipsticks for a few weeks now and had signed myself up to the waiting list over at Boots.com. As soon as the email informing me they had arrived hit my inbox, I swiftly made my purchase. I had already watched a few swatch videos on YouTube and read some reviews online so I kind of knew what to expect.

When my order arrived I couldn't open it fast enough, I love NYX, their products are really nice quality and very affordable. I decided to go for a light nude as well as a mid range. Both Corset and Honeymoon caught my eye as they were more of a brown shade than a purple/pink. The product itself is packaged really nicely and actually feels quite expensive. The product design is really pretty and the tubes are quite large, meaning you get a lot of product!

Before using a matte lipstick I make a conscious effort to moisturise my lips to avoid that awful flakey, dry look. The lip wand is a really nice size and very easy to manoeuvre The product applies really nicely, its super silky and isn't too thick. Once you've applied the product it begins drying and transforms from a wet liquid to a dry matte finish. I am so happy with the two shades I picked, they are very wearable on a day to day basis so you get a lot of use out of them. The first day I wore the product was on a long university day. This day involves catching a train outside, walking to my destination and also eating/drinking. I am quite understandable in terms of product wear, I understand that products can't stay on forever and sometimes they need to be reapplied. However, I couldn't believe how long these lipsticks stayed put. I applied at 7:30am and didn't need to reapply until 2pm! Bearing in mind I had given a speech as well as consumed both hot and cold drinks! My lips stayed moisturised throughout the day until around 2pm when I decided to reapply, and when I say dry, I mean hardly.

I am so impressed with these two beauties and hope to purchase more from the range  - they seem like the perfect staple lipstick. The duration they last is so amazing, especially when you consider that these are highstreet products. They have outdone my expectations. , beautiful shade, long-lasting and inexpensive. Let me know if you have tried or are planning on trying these out, I would love to know what shades you're loving!

RIMMEL LONDON NUDE COLLECTION

I'm going through a bit of a lipstick addiction at the moment, then again, doesn't everyone go into lipstick overdrive in autumn? I decided to add to my nude lipsticks as I don't have that many.  For every day lipstick, I tend to use highstreet brands and Rimmel are the perfect brand. I refuse to pay over £10 for a lip product that is used daily and bound to run out faster.

I decided on shade 45 because it's very similar to my natural lip colour. I didn't want a nude that would wash me out or that looked too obvious. I find that when I don't wear lipstick, my lips look flat and so a near to real lip shade is perfect for no-makeup makeup days. The wear of this product is brilliant, it lasts and doesn't look awful when it starts to wear. I love the packaging, the baby pink/peach with the classic Kate signature is so pretty! I love the shade as it's so pretty, very natural and perfect for every day use! It keeps my lips moisturised which is a huge plus, none likes dry lips! The only thing that I don't really like is the smell of the lipstick, I really can't put my finger on it but It's not my favourite! I am going to purchase another shade from this range, possibly a darker brown shade for days where I make more of an effort!

Let me know if you have tried this product and also if there are any other nude shades you could recommend!
